Modem Applet by Mark Gamber, 7/6/1997 For SH3 and MIPS based Windows CE computers By using this program, the user assumes full responsibility for it's use and may not hold the author liable for any loss or damage. If unable to accept this condition, the program may not be used and must be destroyed immediately. The program may be freely distributed but remains the property of the author and may not be modified, nor may the dist- -ribution package be modified in any way without expressed approval from the author. To begin using the Modem applet, simply use HPC Explorer to copy the CPL file for your handheld computer (HPC) to the HPC itself. Be sure to copy the file to the \Windows directory on the HPC so the applet appears in Control Panel. A list of devices are displayed when the applet is started. Select a device to investigate and select the "Info" button (or press Enter). The applet will begin to query the device using various AT commands and display the results in the large edit field in the center of the window. Of course, this is assuming that the device selected is a modem, either a PCMCIA device or something connected to the serial port. You may refresh the device list at any time by selecting the "Find Devices" button.
